Mission Statement

The Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts is to celebrate and preserve the legacy of jazz through accessible education for the Greater Philadelphia region, and to support hte evolving art form through talent development, programming, and public performance.

About This Cause

The PCC music education program serves a diverse group of students ages 8 to 18, from communities across Philadelphia. Our weekly instrumental and vocal classes for students of all levels are set up as ensembles, so that students not only learn to play their instruments, solo and improvise, but also collaborate with other musicians. Their instructors are some of the best professional jazz musicians in the Tri-State area. The PCC's music education program is commonly regarded as its most notable program offering, given its impact on students through exposure to working musician teachers and the strong track record of success for PCC graduates in higher education institutions post-Clef Club training. Learning through music education connects students (elementary, middle, and high school) with a world of ideas and aspirations for life, higher education, and careers. The program is designed to open the creative potential of the participants while teaching students our philosophical values in a safe and encouraging environment.
