About This Cause
Gemma Services was formed in November 2019 when two long-standing nonprofits merged to form one, unified organization: Silver Springs - Martin Luther School and theVillage. Both Silver Springs and theVillage were founded as orphanages in Philadelphia dedicated to providing services for vulnerable children, youth, and families. With more than 300 years of combined services, the merged entity serves thousands of children, teens, and families each year through a range of services. Gemma's programs include community based and residential mental health services, a special education school (Martin Luther School), foster family care and adoption programs, and prevention services.
