Mission Statement
Camp Victory is a leader in providing a unique camping experience for children, families and individuals facing similar challenges. Working together with our Partner Groups, we nurture and celebrate well-being in our campers. Our volunteers, staff, specialized facilities and programs create an extraordinary, fun environment to foster friendships, hope, and life-changing bonds.
About This Cause
During the summer of 1986, Lois and Dennis Wolff shared a dream with a few close friends. Their son, Nicholas, was recovering from a liver transplant at just 18 months of age, having been born with a life-threatening liver disease. During that trying time, the Wolff family realized the value of having a place to go to share their triumphs and struggles with others going through a similar expe-rience. Farmers and entrepreneurs from Millville, Pa., the Wolffs decided to donate 35 acres of their farmland to create that place. ........the place that has become known as Camp Victory - A special Camp for Special Kids! Over the 31 years that have followed, Camp Victory has grown steadily into the impressive facility and program it is today and has hosted nearly 46,000 overnight campers and counselors. Partnering with 30 independent groups, Camp Victory offers the unique location, infrastructure and program each group needs to host their camp. Although there are similar camps located across the country, several things make Camp Victory unique. Most of the other camps are located within metropolitan areas, whereas Camp Victory is very rural but within driving distance of a few major cities, includ-ing New York and Philadelphia. Camp Victory is also the most efficient camp of its kind. With a 2018 budget of $722,510, Camp employs only three full-time employees. Other personnel include 2 year-round, part-time employees and dozens of seasonal employees throughout the camping season. Camp Victory offers the camp experience to children otherwise denied it because of limitations im-posed by a chronic or catastrophic health problem. Meeting and interacting with other children who share their problems and fears helps each of them come to terms with their limitations and builds the self-esteem necessary to function fully in society at large. To this end the camp incorporates as-pects of terrain and facility design that contribute to the comfort and well-being of such children, and includes a state of the art medical facility providing a center for the specialized equipment and care essential for handling their medical and psychological needs.
