Mission Statement
The mission of the Eastern PA Down Syndrome Center is to equip families and individuals influenced by Down syndrome with the latest medical advancements, social, emotional and educational support in order to maximize each individual's potential.
About This Cause
The EPDSC is a non profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the quality care of our clients and families. The EPDSC provides: *Medical Services *A comprehensive and specialized medical assessment for infants, children and adolescents with Down syndrome by one of our physicians. *Referral of patients to specialist who have an interest in meeting the needs of individuals with Down syndrome. *Screening by our developmental occupational therapist. *Collaboration between our medical staff and the patient's primary care physician. Family Support: *Provides new information about Down syndrome to new families. *Assists families in locating medical, educational, recreational and social services. *Connect families that have similar medical and educational needs. *Provides networking opportunities for families through our annual social events. Resources and Information: *Has a lending library of books, DVDs and periodicals. *Hosts conferences/workshops to provide current information to families, professionals and the community *Maintains a website of current information. *Publishes a quarterly newsletter
