We serve as a global leader and partner to eliminate corneal blindness worldwide by 2040.
About This Cause
SightLife is the only non-profit global health organization solely focused on eliminating corneal blindness in the U.S. and around the world. There are over 10 million people with corneal blindness still waiting to have their sight restored. SightLife provides a comprehensive set of tools, best practices, training, and resources to help eye banks in under-served parts of the world develop the capacity to serve the needs of the corneal blind in their own communities. We’re helping to build leaders so that sustainable change happens from the ground up, at the local level. SightLife works in partnership with surgeons and health organizations in more than 30 countries. Along with our global eye bank partners we provided over 30,000 corneas for transplant in 2016. That’s 30,000 lives changed for the better. With a proven strategy for building global eye banking capacity, we are beginning to realize our mission. But we can’t do it alone.
