Mission Statement
The mission of Meals on Wheels for Fort Collins is to support the dignity, well-being and independence of primarily homebound older adults and eligible clients in our community with a hot, nutritious meal and social interaction for up to 5 days of a week.
About This Cause
We serve Fort Collins, Laporte, and Wellington areas and we deliver a hot nutritious meal to an average of 325 home-bound older and or disabled adults each day. This is an increase of 80 people largely due to the pandemic, but the majority have continued with our service. Our growing needs are being met by adding additional volunteers and an additional route, and expanded services and funding. We continue our efforts to ensure those who can benefit from our service are aware our program is available to them at a very low cost if any. We are conscious of the ever-changing demographics and are committed to providing excellent service and making continued improvements to serve our community most effectively. Our partnership with the Poudre Valley Hospital is unique and meals are each nutritiously balanced to meet a variety of individual dietary needs of our clients, I.E. Dental soft, renal diets, vegetarian, and puree.
