Mission Statement
Looking for fun, excitement, adventure, and experience friendship with Jesus Christ? Then come to our Northwest Christian Camp for the Deaf (NWCCD). This camp is available to Deaf and Hard of Hearing children or children of Deaf and Hard of Hearing parents and their siblings. For many of these children, it is their first experience with a Christian environment and Deaf Christian role models. NWCCD is something your child will remember for a lifetime.
About This Cause
Gospel Ministries for the Deaf (GMD) is a 501(c)(3) organization established by Educators and Ministers of the Deaf. GMD was established in 1971 under the direction of visionary, Bill Erickson. Currently GMD's activities are directed by a Board of Directors which include Jim Smith - NWCCD Camp Director and Naomi Pfnister who leads the Patterned Language education and development, missions and the work of the Director. Since GMD’s founding, it has been active in establishing fellowships for the Deaf, establishing ministry training programs in the USA and abroad, training mission teachers for the Deaf as well as the continuing work of NWCCD and Patterned Language. Gospel Ministries for the Deaf (GMD) provides the non-profit organizational structure for several ministries including Northwest Christian Camp for the Deaf (NWCCD). It has published and is distributing Patterned Language, and is developing an extensive computerized education program based on this system. These programs are used in mission schools for the Deaf which are often located in developing countries. The Patterned Language system is available for sale here in the United States. Use the Patterned Language tab for more information. Northwest Christian Camp for the Deaf is a camp for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, youth and adults and their families. Families are welcome to come as a family unit or cabin space is available for children ages 8 and above. NWCCD works in coordination with churches of the Deaf in Oregon and Washington to provide an interactive summer camp environment for the Deaf and their families.
