The Ms. Foundation for Women builds women's collective power in the United States to advance equity and justice for all.
About This Cause
All women deserve justice. But our democracy wasn’t created with or for women, leaving equitable access to safety, health, and economic security unrealized. To create a safe and just future for all, we must center women and girls of color in feminism and philanthropy. The Ms. Foundation for Women transforms our democracy and dismantles oppression by building women’s collective power. Guided by a gender and racial justice lens, we resource women-led movements, listen to grassroots leaders and connect them to capacity-building opportunities, and fight for policies that improve the lives of women and girls across the country. We were the first national public foundation to focus on the issues that impact women. Since 1973, we’ve opened up worlds of possibility for women and girls and have changed society, policy, and culture for the better. But our work is far from finished. A democracy where women and girls of color have justice is a democracy where we all have justice. Together, we will create it.
