Mission Statement
Following Jesus by reducing hunger and improving lives worldwide through partnerships that equip people with agricultural resources and skills.
About This Cause
ECHO exists to empower the undernourished with lasting hunger solutions. Directly training thousands of small-scale farmers, missionaries, and development workers each year, ECHO empowers families with the agricultural skills and resources to raise themselves out of hunger and poverty. As those equipped pass on what they’ve learned, thousands more move from barely surviving to growing enough food to feed their families and their communities. ECHO also curates, researches and shares proven and reliable knowledge about plants, practices, and appropriate technologies through our online platform, ECHOcommunity.org. Each month, more than 16,500 people working in over 190 countries access this online resource to find solutions to help the families and communities they serve. Our transformative work is carried-out by an experienced, gifted, and passionate team based in Chiang Mai Thailand, Arusha Tanzania, Ouagadougou Burkina Faso, and North Fort Myers, Florida, U.S.A. Direct global engagement is complemented by a robust internship program, active seed banks and plant propagation, a unique research library and research initiatives, extensive engagement in public education, and the operation of a Global Demonstration Farm and Appropriate Technology Center in Southwest Florida. Since our funds come from caring and generous individuals like you, we work very hard to keep expenses low. Thanks to our efficient management and model, ECHO is rated among the Top 3% of all evaluated charities in the US by Charity Navigator and has been awarded the highest “4-Star” rating. Join with ECHO to provide lasting solutions worldwide. Your gift(s) through this portal help more families know that there is indeed Hope Against Hunger.
