Mission Statement

The mission of the Bartholomew County Humane Society is to be a community resource dedicated to promoting the welfare of animals. We provide temporary shelter to pets in need and promote adoption of homeless pets into loving, permanent homes. We advocate respect for animals through public education concerning responsible pet ownership. We support and promote spaying and neutering to aid in ultimately eliminating pet overpopulation in our community.

About This Cause

BCHS is a not-for-profit 501-c registered charity that operates a brick and mortar facility housing homeless animals for adoption, rescue or quarantine. BCHS also facilitates several outsourcing programs such as working with a low cost spay/neuter organization, education outreach, pet food bank, service organization engagements (Lions Club, Kiwanis, service fraternities and sororities, etc.) among other activities designed to assist both animals and the people who love them.
