Mission Statement

Serving the survivor families of fallen local, state & federal first responders - plus severely injured first responders as well as active-duty first responder families throughout Bexar County by providing financial assistance, active-duty safety training and coping, counseling & mental health services to all.

About This Cause

The 100 Club of San Antonio Since 1973, The 100 Club has focused on immediate financial assistance after a line of duty death and providing scholarships to assist with higher education for all dependent children. While this remains our core mission, the generosity of San Antonio and Bexar County has allowed us to expand our services. o We support other organizations that compliment the 100 Club mission through The 100ClubSA Donation Fund such as the Law-Enforcement Youth Explorers, Children’s Bereavement Center, FBI Memorial Fund, Firefighters Benevolent Fund and many others o We now financially assist seriously injured first responders through The 100ClubSA Line of Duty Injury Fund o 2016: Introduction of The 100ClubSA Training Scholarship Program for active duty first responders to help bring them home safely each day. Tactical First Aid (Personal Field Kit is issued with training) Defensive Tactics Verbal De-Escalation Skills o Additional Classes include:  Specialized Skills for Women in Law-Enforcement  Protecting your Weapon in a Ground Fight  Tactical Use of Flashlights in Low-Level Light Environments o In 2017, we provided over 250 Training Scholarships to law-enforcement officers throughout Bexar County o In 2018 we project over 500 Training Scholarships + a program of specialized training for 180 BCSO Detention & Courthouse Officers. Although not in our service area, 100ClubSA felt drawn to reach out to our neighbors in Wilson County affected by the tragic shootings at Sutherland Springs First Baptist Church killing 26 and injuring 30 last November. The 100 Club of San Antonio in partnership with Con10gency Consulting has sponsored free Tactical First Aid, Defensive Tactics and Verbal De-Escalation Training + time for a Coping and Counseling Segment for 40 First Responders in Wilson County (Sutherland Springs). This is a full day intensive course. It includes the issuance of a personal IFAK Medical Kit providing all the equipment necessary to provide immediate, life-saving care to a traumatically injured patient. We are continuing to reach out with coping & counseling services for the first responders that were on scene folliwng this unimaginable tragedy. 2018 Made possible by the generosity of the citizens and businesses of San Antonio and Bexar County We are pleased to announce the creation of: The 100ClubSA Coping, Counseling and Mental Health Awareness Program. In this time of random shootings and targeting of law-enforcement, arson and the constant glare of social media on our officers – the already high divorce rate is climbing, suicides are up, stress-related work performance is a growing issue and the stress of having a husband, wife, child, sister, brother, parents, cousins or any loved one in service to their community is most difficult. The 100 Club is in a unique position to assist with what may be the defining issue within our mission. While our financial support for our Survivor Families is critical and needed – A huge missing element is coping and counseling skills and mental health awareness. o Form Monthly Support Groups for our Survivor Families o Form Monthly Support Groups for our Seriously Injured and their families o We recently sponsored 13 local Family Assistance Officers from SAPD, SAFD BCSO and Fire Marshal to a National Conference on Trauma & Wellness in Law-Enforcement o Assistance with Drug & Alcohol Rehab for First Responders o Suicide Prevention Awareness o Sponsor Seminars and discussions for spouses and children of law-enforcement & fire such as PTSD 101 for Spouses. While larger departments may have excellent mental health units, smaller departments do not and unfortunately many in larger departments may not seek assistance from inside the department. As an independent 100% citizen-based organization with no affiliation to any department, municipality or other organization – we believe we are a trusted resource for our first responders and their families. The 100ClubSA Schools Initiative: The 100 Club seeks to become a bridge between locals schools and law-enforcement / Fire. Just recently, we have assisted the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department with a Standard Response Protocol Program to train over 100 school staff members in Standard Response Protocol Training to better prepare for a crisis situation on campuses around Bexar County. We partnered with SAPD, SAFD and TX DPS to mentor students and celebrate teachers at two elementary campuses for Teacher Appreciation Week.
