We are a no-kill, free-roaming cat shelter.
About This Cause
The Volunteer Humane Society is a no-kill, free-roaming (meaning that the animals are NOT kept in cages!) dedicated to finding adoptive homes for cats that are surrendered to the shelter via private homes, strays, animal control facilities, or from "kill" shelters. We have a 98% placement rate, with most animals being adopted within 30 days! The shelter has been in business since 1974, and is held in high standing with the Massachusetts Department of Agriculture.
