Mission Statement

The mission of the San Francisco Vegan Society (SFVS) is to promote a vegan diet and a healthy, ethical, and sustainable way of life.

About This Cause

Since 1968, the San Francisco Vegan Society has focused on educating the public about the many benefits of a plant-based diet and a healthy, compassionate lifestyle. We participate in several outreach events throughout the year including Vegan Earth Day and San Francisco Pride. SFVS also produces World Vegan Fest, one of the largest and longest-running veg fests in the United States. World Vegan Fest every October in Golden Gate Park with dynamic speakers, informative panel discussions, vegan chef demos, live music, and exciting vegan vendors. World Vegan Fest has received a VegNews Veggie Award and the city of San Francisco issued an official declaration marking it as the World Vegetarian Day Celebration. 3,000 - 4,000 people attend World Vegan Fest every year. We hope to attract even more people this year with your generous support!
