About This Cause

The National Society Sons of the American Revolutionary War was organized in 1889 and chartered by the US Congress in 1906 as a historical, educational and patriotic organization seeking to promote patriotism and reaffirm those values on which our country was founded. The society is headquartered in Louisville Kentucky and has approximately 38,000 members primarily in the U.S., Canada, France and Spain. The society maintains a world class genealogy museum at its headquarters in Louisville and is involved with many education programs such as oration, essay, poster and brochure contests, scholarship programs for Eagle Scouts and ROTC cadets, and honors history teachers in elementary through high schools. The members are active in commemorating anniversary events, speaking at schools and community events, and honoring those who properly display the US Flag.
