Mission Statement

Pabst Mansion, Inc., a registered non-profit organization located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, operates a vital house museum that preserves the legacy of the Pabst family and their impact on the citizens, history, and culture of the Greater Milwaukee community.

About This Cause

When Captain Frederick and Maria Pabst began construction of their new family mansion in June 1890, they could not have anticipated that it would survive and thrive into the twenty-first century as a testament to America’s Gilded Age. While the world around the Mansion will continue to change, the Pabst Mansion serves as an important reminder of the best of the 19th century. Scheduled for demolition in 1975, a group of enthusiastic preservationists stepped forward to save the Pabst Mansion, restore it and invest funds into a site that became an economic draw in a challenged urban environment. Over the last four decades, experts and volunteers have worked diligently to restore and maintain this 20,000 square foot 3-story landmark in the heart of the City and make it available to the public. Guests visit the Pabst Mansion for its unique perspective into Milwaukee’s brewing history and to enjoy and appreciate the beautiful furnishings and artwork on display. Nearly two million people have visited the Pabst Mansion and millions of dollars have been invested in its restoration and maintenance. As one of the top five tourist destinations in Milwaukee, the Pabst Mansion is deeply involved with ensuring the Mansion's connection to the city - past and present - and relishes its role as cultural, history and art museum, as well a memorial to the Pabst family legacy.
