About This Cause
The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is a service organization for young women which promotes values, teaches communication and leadership skills, encourages cooperation and improves our communities through service through lasting friendships. Rainbow Girls is an organization that encourages a young woman to adopt good core values that assist in making good life decisions. Service is an important component of Rainbow Girls and teaches the members to extend a loving hand to members in the community through service to others. Rainbow allows its members to travel to different cities, and even states, to meet other girls with similar interests. Older girls are able to interact with and mentor the younger girls. The members of the assembly (local group) are responsible for the financial affairs, correspondence, learn parlimentary procedures, and not only plan but execute all of the activities of the assembly. Girls learn to do all of this while accepting each other for who they are - strengths and weaknesses and all. Rainbow teaches leadership, public speaking, poise, social graces, promotes a healthy self-esteem and confidence, as well as a sense of accomplishment.
