Mission Statement

Founded in 1985, the mission of the Jewish Assistance Fund is to provide immediate financial assistance, without expectation of repayment, to Jewish people in Western Pennsylvania who have limited resources and are in need of emergency support for food, clothing, housing, utilities, transportation and medical necessities.

About This Cause

The Jewish Assistance Fund provides the Pittsburgh and Western PA Jewish Community with financial help for pressing expenses. This financial assistance is in the form of a grant without repayment, so people can pay their bills, including their medical, dental, utilities, transportation, and food expenses. With the community's support, the Jewish Assistance Fund confidentially helps increase access to financial resources, helps to reduce stress, decreases financial burden, and positively impacts the economic security of children and adults living in the Western PA Jewish community who have mounting expenses.
