Mission Statement
The mission of the Balmoral School is: “To raise the standard and promote the appreciation of bagpipe music in the USA by providing world class instruction, cultivating excellence in youth, presenting innovative musical events, and fostering tradition.”
About This Cause
Founded in 1979, the Balmoral School has several projects: 1) 4-6 weeks of instructional sessions each summer held at university, college, and academy campuses with world class players/instructors; 2) The annual Balmoral Classic, featuring the US Junior Solo Championships in Highland Bagpiping and Drumming and an evening concert with an internationally recognized ensemble that used bagpipes and/or Scottish fiddle in performance. 3) The Balmoral Pipes and Drums 4) Production of instructional materials such as 'The Balmoral Collection of Hymns Arranged for the Highland Bagpipe' and a forthcoming book on How to play the bagpipe for contra dances
