About This Cause

The National Aviary features more than 500 birds of 150+ unique species from around the world. The National Aviary is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that receives no federal funding and depends on donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Contributions made will be used for National Aviary Annual Operating Fund, Conservation and Field Research Department, Education Programs, and Avian Veterinary and Research Hospital. Gifts help us to protect and preserve over 500+ birds (representing more than 150 species) that reside in our care, and ensure that they continue to thrive, both in our institution and in the wild. In addition to creating educational programs for a diverse audience, National Aviary staff are well-regarded leaders in avian conservation and field research. Our veterinary staff provides leading-edge avian medical care which maintains the health and well-being of our own flock, and by sharing best practices and treatments developed here at the National Aviary with other veterinary professionals, birds everywhere benefit. Your contribution supports all of these activities. The National Aviary is home to more than 60 bird species that are part of the Species Survival Plan program, 40 of those are endangered species.
