Mission Statement

Yeshiva Schools of Pittsburgh is committed to providing a quality education for every Jewish child. By integrating Judaic, secular and communal learning, we will hone the analytical, abstract and cognitive thinking skills of every boy and girl. We seek to educate students to be inspired members of the Jewish people, responsible American citizens and moral, productive members of society. To this end, we work to instill in our students a love for G-d and the Torah. We imbue within our students a sense of love and responsibility for mankind, regardless of affiliation. We foster patriotism and civic responsibility, and provide opportunities for students to give to their communities through volunteer programs. Recognizing the State of Israel and its national institutions, we seek to inspire in our students an attachment to the Land of Israel, as well as feelings of responsibility for its welfare. Through our engaging and rigorous Judaic and General Studies education, based on national state standards, we aim for students to become lifelong learners who are prepared to think critically, as well as deeply.

About This Cause

The Yeshiva Schools is committed to the education of all students. It is deeply embedded in our philosophy that all students should be included in the regular education program. To this end, our faculty are trained to modify and accommodate their students within the regular classroom setting when needed. We believe that all students should be educated according to their needs and abilities. Additionally, we have many support services which address the needs of our students. These services include the following: ● Strong Administrative support; ● Intermediate Unit remedial reading and math specialists; ● Intermediate Unit speech therapists; parent consultations with Intermediate Unit psychologists; ● School educational evaluations with the IU psychologists; and Yeshiva resource room teachers; ● Support services and teachers that provide one-on-one and small group instruction as needed. We are pleased to announce the initiation of a collaboration with Carlow University’s Graduate School Counseling Department, and the Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh, Yad B’Yad Program, school counselors and social workers. These professionals will provide direct servicesto students, parents, and teachers in the way of consultations, classroom observations, evaluations, and recommendations for specific students.
