Mission Statement

The Coalition of Concerned Black Christian Men (CCBCM) of Prince George's county Maryland is based in Fort Washington, Maryland and is a local 501(c) (3) non-profit organization and our mission is to operate on a non-profit basis with an all-volunteer membership that provides resources in support of educational opportunities, social assistance and community involvement to help enhance the quality of life for the people in our communities. As a charitable organization, we measure our success through the number of students receiving scholarships and the number of residents that we are able to either help improve their current situation, achieve future goals, or assist in the many needs that they may have. The CCBCM has awarded $562,000 dollars in scholarships to (625) deserving students and provided $167,293 dollars in food, monetary donations, toys, COVID-19 support and assistance to families in need through our community outreach program. The CCBCM is concerned about improving the quality of life in the community. We are men committed to project a positive image by making a difference in the community through positive actions. We are dedicated to be a proactive organization that will be visible in the community by producing results for our activities. We are concerned about meeting the needs of the community and have maintained a high profile by sponsoring major programs to meet the growing needs of the community by providing financial and human resources. The CCBCM is concerned about helping those who may need assistance in caring for their families.

About This Cause

The Coalition of Concerned Black Christian Men (CCBCM) is organized as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization exclusively for charitable, educational and community outreach purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of monetary distributions to persons in need of assistance and organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code. The CCBCM is also registered as a tax-exempt non-stock corporation with the state of Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation, Charter Division. In support of our mission to operate on a non-profit basis with an all-volunteer membership that provides resources in support of educational opportunities, social assistance and community involvement to help enhance the quality of life for the people in our communities; the Coalition has been serving our community since 1987 in a variety of ways, such as, providing monetary assistance, providing COVID19 assistance, sponsoring an annual Scholarship Awards Program to honor individuals for serving our community and Awarding yearly Academic Scholarships; Participating in Christmas in April projects; and through the Self Help and Resource Exchange (SHARE) program to provide food on a monthly basis to families and food pantries requiring extra assistance. The CCBCM was established to provide a male presence in the lives of young people and families in the community to improve their quality of life. We provide annual scholarships and provide monetary donations and monthly food SHARE baskets to the community food pantries and identified families living in the community that are in need of assistance. Since 1993 we have awarded $562,000 dollars in scholarships to (625) students and since 2002 provided $167,293 in food and donations to food pantries and families in need of assistance through our community outreach programs and since March 2020 provided $37,360 in financial assistance to residents impacted by COVID-19 to help supplement their rent, food, utilities and medicines. Funds were also used to provide masks and gloves to Senior Citizen Facilities and volunteers working at Food Distribution centers.
