About This Cause

The mission of the NHHF is to improve the health of Hispanics and other under served. NHHF is affiliated with the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, New York University. The NHHF, with your support, has developed a recruitment program for health careers with the scholarship recipients and our partners. Also we are developing Hispanic community-based health research and a clinical trials program. We also develop white papers to educate the nation on strategies to improve health of Hispanic populations. The Hispanic Health Professional Student Scholarship Program is the only national scholarship program targeted at Hispanic students who are committed to careers in health care and enrolled in graduate schools of medicine, nursing, dentistry, public health, and health policy. There is a dearth of Hispanic health professionals in the United States. Only four percent of all physicians, three percent of all dentists, and two percent of all total nurses are Hispanic. We must increase these numbers. The National Hispanic Health Foundation (NHHF) has developed a unique program to award scholarships to talented students, the future leaders in health care. NHHF, the 501c3 arm of the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA), is building on NHMA's network in developing "The Hispanic Health Professional Student Scholarship," which rewards students in health policy and health professional programs for exceptional academic performance, leadership, and commitment to their community. NHHF is affiliated with the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, New York University, which has developed leaders in public service, public health, and health services research arenas.
