Mission Statement
Monroe is a multilingual and multicultural K-5 school offering three academically aligned language programs. Monroe Elementary School is flourishing with the help of talented teachers and staff, energized parent groups, special grants, such as the Monroe ES PTA which seeks to provide additional science, recess, and parent engagement programming to its students this coming school year.
About This Cause
Monroe Elementary School Parent Teacher Association is a 501c3 non-profit that supports the development of happy, healthy, and well-educated children at Monroe Elementary School. Of the 515 students, more than 70 percent of the children of the school receive free or reduced cost lunch. The school has three academic strands: Spanish Immersion, Chinese Biliteracy, and General Education. The PTA’s goals for the 2024-2025 school year are to fill significant gaps in the school site budget by providing funding for outdoor science education, support for structured activities during recess, and parent engagement through our Cantonese and Spanish speaking parent liaisons. We also support the school through many activities to celebrate milestones and cultural traditions.
