Mission Statement

Our Vision: Every Forest Hills School District student has the resources to reach their full potential. Our Mission: We cultivate resources and create opportunities to prepare all Forest Hills School District students to be successful.

About This Cause

The Forest Hills Foundation for Education is supported by individual and corporate donations, grants, and fundraising events. Our largest event is the Forest Hills 5K (FH5K). In addition to fundraising, this event promotes exercise and a healthy lifestyle in the Forest Hills Schools through school running clubs. Coordinated by FHFE and parent and community volunteers, these running clubs start in February and culminate with the running of the FH5K in May. We traditionally have over 600 students involved in running clubs. With the the money raised from the above sources, we fund the following programs: College and career prep classes including interviewing skills classes, college essay writing classes, job shadowing and internship opportunities; technology including robotics teams, virtual reality equipment, E-Sports teams, and equipment to support virtual learning; Destination Imagination teams at the six elementary schools and Nagel Middle School; after-school computer access, tutoring, and enrichment for students at Nagel Middle School, including the cost of the buses to transport students home from the tutoring sessions and after-school clubs; innovative grant requests from Forest Hills teachers to support educators’ efforts to bring new ideas to the classroom that will motivate and inspire students; and mental health initiatives including Hope Squads, a peer to peer suicide prevention program, and a school based therapist so that students with mental health issues can be seen in a timely manner.
