Mission Statement
Furry Friends Refuge is a nonprofit humane organization serving the animals of Urbandale and Clive, Iowa. We are a volunteer-run organization committed to creating the first no-kill community in our state.
About This Cause
Furry Friends Refuge seeks to assist all Des Moines-area animals in need through a variety of programs including adoptions, a spay and neuter clinic, community outreach, and humane education. We accept all animals from Clive and Urbandale, where we have successfully built a no-kill community; in 2014, our live-release rate was 97 percent. All donations go directly to the programs that serve the animals, and we believe in full transparency in how we use funding and in what happens to the animals we take in.
