Mission Statement
The vision of Crayons to Classrooms is to ensure every student has the school supplies they need to succeed. Our mission is to secure and distribute school supplies at no cost to teachers of students in need.
About This Cause
At Crayons to Classrooms we solicit and purchase educational supplies and surplus products via manufacturers, distributors and retailers to provide eligible teachers a no-cost resource center of school supplies and educational materials. Teachers from eligible pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade schools are invited to visit our facility once per semester, twice per year, to acquire supplies for their classrooms and students. Our teachers leave with an average of $800 in supplies each trip to our store. To meet our eligibility requirements, a school must have 60% or more of their student population enrolled in free or reduced lunch programming via the National School Lunch Program. We first opened our doors to teachers in our community in January of 2009 with 8 pilot schools and as of August 2023, we have distributed over $35 million in school supplies and materials in the 125 schools and 10 childcare centers we now serve. We continue to invite teachers within eligible schools to shop our facility as resources allow.
