Support Salem residents in building community and growing food.
About This Cause
Salem Community Gardens, established in 2007, rents out raised beds and gardening plots to 200 families in Salem, Massachusetts. We recognize that this is Indigenous land, and acknowledge the Massachusett tribe who continue to honor and hold this land into the present. Our four garden locations are Palmer Cove, Mack Park, Pickman Park and Splaine Park. Each garden has its own personality - some plots are large, in-ground plots, other plots are smaller raised beds. Our non-profit organization, a 501(c)3, is entirely volunteer-run, with Garden Captains at each garden, and a Board of Directors which supports all four gardens.
