Mission Statement
The Victory Project is a registered 501c3, faith-based mission, funded by private donations. Our goal is to break down the cycle of dependency on a criminal or social system which can enable destructive lifestyles. We accomplish this goal by partnering with the Business, Criminal Justice, and Faith communities to mentor court-involved and disadvantaged young men. We provide Education, Entrepreneurship, and Enlightenment opportunities. “It’s less about what we do, and more about what we Undo.”
About This Cause
Our motto: “It's less about what we do and more about what we undo”. Meaning: whether through abuse or neglect, the harsh reality of many disadvantaged youth has “Done” enough in their lives already. By “Undoing” their experience base and exposing the youth to the potential of a positive socioeconomic standing through accountability, education, and entrepreneurial competition. The Victory Project (VP) clears the land, plants the seed, and cultivates the youth through a hands-on experience. We also believe this “Undoing” model is Biblically founded in the example of Christ’s life & sacrifice. An uncommon vision = An uncommon alliance. VP has forged a new path in mentoring disadvantaged youth by bringing together partnerships with the Criminal Justice, Business, and Faith communities. We believe this holistic approach lays a time-tested foundation of real exit strategies through hard work, supportive community, and spiritual guidance. A pivotal component of this vision is our home at 409 Troy Street in Dayton. With this centrally located facility, we have expanded our services to include the creation of a fully operational small business, which the youth, alongside their business mentors operate. This exposes them to an entrepreneurial apprenticeship experience that they will carry throughout life. The facility also allows us to expand our tutoring, life skills, and recreational, arts-inspired, and faith-based activities. Our desire is to fill the youth’s time with practical, life-forming skills in a safe environment. We believe in building our youth through an organic approach of first building a trusting relationship. We do this by applying consistency in their lives, whether it's classes, outings, or fun activities, consistency is the goal. VP continues to build upon its core group of committed youth, volunteers, staff, and mentors. We have a proven track record of success and good stewardship. But VP needs your L.I.F.E. to change a life, we need your Labor, your Influence, your Finances, and your Expertise. The Bottom Line: By providing jobs, education & guidance, VP is breaking down the walls of captivity. Youth are no longer dependent on a criminal or social system that can enable their destructive lifestyles. Finding freedom and independence by obtaining marketable skills that will allow the youth to compete in the world, will also empower them to discover the life God had intended.
