Mission The mission of the Urban Discovery Academy schools is to develop community-minded students who are active, creative, empathetic, confident, and ready to lead our global society. Vision Our vision is to graduate innovative leaders empowered to address the biggest issues facing our community. Urban Discovery Academy provides students with a high-quality, education that is tailored to individual needs and inspires student inquiry, exploration and growth. Our school makes learning meaningful, hands-on, and exciting. We use project-based-learning and design-thinking as our primary teaching methodologies. Students solve real problems to deepen their learning, using technology and inquiry to engage with issues and questions that are relevant to their lives. Classroom projects are used to assess student’s subject matter competence. UDA teaches students to be exemplary: Scholars: who research, analyze, and evaluate to solve problems Athletes: who demonstrate positive sportsmanship and teamwork Artists: who express themselves positively and creatively Innovators: who question, listen, think, explore, and create Communicators: who reflect, communicate and articulate in different ways Collaborators: who work well with others and use resources effectively Contributors: who support their schoolmates and their community Every graduating high school student will meet the requirements necessary for acceptance into a 4-year college. More importantly, all of our students will complete an internship experience and will graduate with direct career-based experience. Our students will be adept at solving the unique challenges they will face in the real-world.
