Mission Statement
MISSION: Empowering adults on the autism spectrum to live meaningful lives throughout their lifespan. VISION: A world where adults on the autism spectrum can fully share in the life of their communities, with the dignity to choose their own path as they strive to achieve their dreams and goals.
About This Cause
Our History In 2006, nine families faced a critical challenge: what would happen to their children with autism once they aged out of the school system? Their search for answers revealed a stark gap—there were no dedicated services for autistic adults in the Baltimore City/County area. Determined to create a solution, they founded Itineris. Born from the collaboration of families, professionals, and self-advocates, Itineris now supports nearly 200 autistic adults, with plans for significant growth. The founders were driven by a vision: to help individuals retain the skills developed in school and continue to thrive as adults. Today, Itineris offers a comprehensive range of services, remaining one of the few Maryland-based organizations solely focused on serving this growing and underrepresented population. ________________________________________ Our Services Day Habilitation Our Day Habilitation program offers meaningful, therapeutic activities in a supportive environment.
