About This Cause
The Seton Hays Foundation works with our local philanthropic community south of Austin to support Ascension Seton Hays, Ascension Seton Edgar B. Davis, Ascension Seton Bastrop, Ascension Seton Southwest and Ascension Seton Smithville - critical assess hospitals. Philanthropy makes the difference in excellence in programs, services and equipment for this not-for-profit healthcare safety net. FY22 Interests / Access to Care for All: ● The Seton Hays Foundation will focus on funding the expansion of cardiovascular care and the Ascension Seton Edgar B. Davis Children’s Care-a-Van. Learn more at SupportSeton.org/OneHeartbeat-SHF. ● Ascension Seton Hays conveniently provides advanced medical care to the residents of Hays, Caldwell and South Travis counties. It's Emergency Department is part of a high Level II Trauma Center. ● Ascension Seton Hays recently expanded their 5th floor to serve orthopedic, spine and trauma surgery patients, and expanding maternity services. ● In March of 2019, the McCoy Wellness and Rehabilitation Center opened at Ascension Seton Hays in Kyle. The Center was funded 100% by philanthropy. It is currently seeing approximately 55-65 patients for Cardiac Rehab, 15-20 patients for Pulmonary Rehab, and 8-12 patients for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy every day. As we continue to expand these services, we expect the program to grow 30% or 25-30 patients daily. ● 43% of Ascension Seton Hays patients are un- or under-insured. ● In FY21, Ascension Seton Hays saw 76,379 patient visits. ● Ascension Seton Hays is the only Level II Trauma Center between Austin & San Antonio. ● Ascension Seton Edgar B. Davis is the only hospital serving the 542 sq. miles of Caldwell County, one of the most economically depressed counties in Texas. It was awarded the National Rural Health Association Top “20” Rural Hospitals in the nation for Quality and provides significant charity each year to our community. ● Ascension Seton Edgar B. Davis is home to our Children’s Care-a-Van providing year-round medical care for newborns through age 18. Services include: treatment for minor illness and injury, well-child exams, immunizations, sports physicals, management of chronic illnesses, screening for healthcare funding and an on-site pharmacy. 90% of the Care-a-Van’s patient population is on subsidized insurance or no insurance at all, and has no primary care provider. We collaborate with school nurses and others. ● The ASEBD Care-a-Van provided care to nearly 1,700 children in FY21. ● Ascension Seton Southwest patient services are designed to address the growing needs of the southwest Travis County communities. As an acute care hospital, Ascension Seton Southwest provides high-quality, cost-effective care – with a range of inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical and rehabilitation services. ● Ascension Seton Smithville, located 13 miles east of Bastrop, Texas, is an acute care facility serving and providing inpatient and outpatient services to Bastrop, Lee, Fayette and other surrounding counties. ASSRH has one of the highest patient satisfaction and quality ratings in the Ascension Network.
