Mission Statement
St. John's ministries responds to those experiencing or at-risk of homelessness in a way that honors their dignity, restores hope, and creates lasting change.
About This Cause
St. John's started as an emergency shelter of last resort (open Nov. 1 - April 30). We believe in meeting each guest right where they are at. Through a spirit of familiarity, rapport and trust, each person will leave better than they came. St. John's has grown from our humble beginnings to provide additional programs and services to assist each individual guest in goal attainment and self-sufficiency. We currently consist of 4 locations (St. John's Men's Shelter | St. John's Women's Shelter | Micah Center | Wellspring), all supporting our one mission to honor the dignity, restore hope and create lasting change for homeless and those at risk in the Green Bay area. St. John's operates two gender-specific emergency shelters of last resort. We provide shelter for individuals who are not accepted elsewhere and who would otherwise be sleeping in places not meant for human habitation. St. John's Men's & Women's Shelters offers case management, harm reduction, connection to resources, ecumenical partnerships, achievement living and summer safe sleep for our most chronic guests. The Micah Center is a year-round, daytime resource center for adult men and women who are experiencing or at-risk of homelessness in the Green Bay community. We offer case management, a medical exam room, education lab, on-site mental health counseling, workshops, computer lab and addiction support groups. Wellspring is a daytime, drop-in resource center for women experiencing ar at-risk of homelessness. It is a place of empowerment for women to connect and get support and resources to achieve their goals. We offer workshops, Women for Sobriety support group, computer lab, job readiness, self-esteem and empowerment, conversation and connection.
