Mission Statement
Working with our community partners, CCEH’s mission is to eliminate chronic homelessness; support and quickly re-house people who have recently become homeless, and; build a system that effectively responds to the diverse needs of people experiencing homelessness. Our vision is a Concord community where everyone has a safe, decent, stable and affordable place to live.
About This Cause
Since December 2008, our Resource Center has been helping clients who are homeless meet their immediate needs and connect to local housing, assistance, and medical resources. On average, we see roughly 50 people per day during our morning drop-in hours Monday through Friday. We provide access to showers, laundry facilities, and a warm or cool place to be without judgement, as well as the use of computer, internet, phone and a mailing address. Case Managers at the Resource Center help connect clients with other programs and benefits. Other service providers such as Harbor Care and Easter Seals, Archways Community Resource Center and Recovery Community, AmeriHealth Caritas and Riverbend visit the Center on a weekly basis, making the Resource Center a central hub of housing and recovery resources and services. Working creatively and energetically with other area providers, CCEH pursues concrete solutions to breaking the cycle of homelessness. We operate on the proven success of the Housing First model, and we provide the intensive case management and housing supports our clients need to exit homelessness and stay housed. Since January 2021, CCEH has helped over 80 individuals exit homelessness and find safe, stable, and affordable housing. CCEH also operates a 40-bed low-barrier emergency winter shelter, open from 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. from December through March. We typically average around 33 individuals per night during the winter season. We are funded primarily through individual and business donations, government grants, and corporate sponsorship. With a staff of just 10 full-time employees, CCEH relies on a group of dedicated volunteers to assist with the daily operation of our Resource Center and Emergency Winter Shelter, as well as for our committees and fundraising events.
