Mission Statement
OUR MISSION Arizona Small Dog Rescue is committed to rescuing dogs in need and caring for them until we find their forever family. We focus on providing a safe environment where the health and welfare of the dogs is our top priority. Core Values INTEGRITY We always do the right thing, even when no one is looking. We will provide the best care for our dogs, be transparent with our supporters, and be good stewards of all donations received. COMPASSION AZSDR demonstrates compassion when interacting with dogs in our care and also shows compassion when interacting with people in all situations. EXCELLENCE We strive for excellence in all we do; from reuniting lost pets with their owners to caring for our dogs to providing exceptional adoption experiences – and everything in between. EDUCATION At AZSDR we understand the importance of spaying and neutering, microchipping, and properly caring for dogs. We always look for opportunities to share best practices with our visitors, supporters, fosters, volunteers, and adopters as well as pet parents who we successfully reunite with their lost dog. Most of the animals in our shelter come from the euthanasia list from Maricopa County Animal Control and other shelters in the area. Some are dogs who are surrendered by owners who can no longer care for their pets, and some are injured, ill, or stray dogs brought in by good Samaritans.
About This Cause
Arizona Small Dog Rescue is a non profit registered 501(c)3 no kill rescue shelter. We are a group of volunteers who have dedicated our lives to rescuing and saving homeless, unwanted, abandoned, neglected, and abused small dogs and cats too. We save most of our animals from kill shelters around the valley, but also accept owner surrenders and stray surrenders. Owner surrender fee’s vary depending on space and availability. We spay/neuter, vaccinate, medically examine, microchip, and evaluate and/or socialize all dogs and cats that come into our rescue before placing up for adoption to pre-screened homes. We rescue many dogs every week and always have a wide variety of personalities and breeds available who would be a perfect fit for any family and any home.
