About This Cause
The OK Program of Oakland is a mentoring and leadership development model that focuses on African- American males 12-18 years old. The goals of the OK Program is to develop leadership and critical thinking skills, promote academic excellence and reduce the high rates of incarceration and homicide among young African American males. Additionally, we improve relationships between law enforcement and the African American community. Our collaborative team mentorship model brings together local police officers, the school district and the faith community with the goal of improving lives while empowering African American men and boys to transform their communities.
