Mission Statement
StartOut is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation created with a view towards promoting equality and combating discrimination in the business world through economic empowerment. Its dedicated to creating great business leaders by fostering LGBT entrepreneurship.
About This Cause
StartOut's mission is to increase the number, diversity, and impact of LGBTQ entrepreneurs and amplify their stories to drive the economic empowerment of the community. Founded in 2009 in New York and San Francisco, StartOut today serves over 17,000 members from all 50 States. Our programs include a variety of tactical resources to support entrepreneurs at every stage: -Up to 60 networking and educational events across the nation each year -The Growth Lab Accelerator for LGBTQ+ founded businesses -6 month Mentorship programs - Investor Portal showcasing StartOut companies to accredited investors -1-on-1 expert sessions with experts in marketing, fundraising, entrepreneurship, and PR - The NetworQ member directory - Online Forums - Research (2016 report on the State of LGBT Entrepreneurship in the US and the 2020 StartOut Pride Economic Impact Index).
