Mission Statement

Whistleblower Aid provides desperately needed legal and 360° client support to whistleblowers. No one should have to risk their career, or their freedom, to follow their conscience. We help our courageous clients report and fix government and corporate lawbreaking— without breaking the law.

About This Cause

All U.S. civil servants and military servicemembers swear an oath to our Constitution. When they learn that something wrong is happening behind closed doors, they want to do the right thing and report the wrongdoing. But becoming a whistleblower comes with huge personal and professional risks. And whistleblowers don’t get enough support. Whistleblower Aid provides desperately needed legal and 360° client support to whistleblowers. No one should have to risk their career, or their freedom, to follow their conscience. We help our courageous clients report and fix government and corporate lawbreaking— without breaking the law. John Napier Tye, a successful National Security Agency whistleblower during the Obama Administration (http://bit.ly/NYTJohn), launched Whistleblower Aid in September 2017 as a U.S. 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit, pro bono legal organization. Whistleblower Aid has already won victories for clients in several branches of the U.S. government. Whistleblower Aid is always non-ideological and non-partisan. We do not seek to advance a particular agenda beyond protecting the rule of law and democratic governance. Compared to alternatives for protecting the rule of law, democratic governance, human rights, freedom of the press, and the environment, Whistleblower Aid’s approach arguably provides the highest marginal value per dollar invested.
