The mission of Caring For Miami is to bring basic and critical resources to families in underserved communities.
About This Cause
Caring For Miami works to improve the lives of low income families in Miami Dade County by bringing basic and critical resources to families in underserved communities. Through three unique programs Caring For Miami provides access to healthy food and affordable dental care. First, Mobile Dental Clinic is to provide free comprehensive dental care to low-income, uninsured individuals in Miami-Dade County and parts of Monroe County. Second, the Backpack Program provides children weekend meals to children facing food insecurity. The “backpacks” consist of nutritious, nonperishable food they can take home and easily prepare on their own when school meals are unavailable. Third, the Mobile Food Market is designed to bring access to fresh, healthy foods to underserved neighborhoods across Miami Dade County.
