Mission Statement

HRF was founded in 2009 with the intention to counter social and economic disparities in South LA and to build bridges between student groups through the transformative power of outdoor camp experiences. We are proud to have touched over 11,000 youth and families from 23 LAUSD schools in our most under-resourced communities.

About This Cause

The Harold Robinson Foundation's Camp Ubuntu is a creative personal development program offering children in our marginalized communities a place to go to engage with positive adult and peer role models while gaining inspiration and tools to reach their greatest potential. Our goal is to become a year-round "wrap-around program" with weekend and after-school arts & tech programming. While we have reimagined how we accomplish our mission, we continue to virtually deliver our programming with students and families. COVID has exacerbated an already food insecure community, and HRF has joined together with a number of our community partners to do large food distributions throughout the quarantine as well as pandemic compliant in-person events with partner organizations as guidelines allow.
