Our mission is to mentor and educate the next generation of great African leaders, society-changers, and footballers.
About This Cause
Ubuntu Football was born in 2011 in response to a crisis of fatherlessness in South African society, where 60% of children are growing up without a father in the home. The lack of positive, male role models is a root cause of many issues like cycles of alcoholism, drug addiction, gender inequality, corruption and more. We are dreaming and hoping for the day where every child in South Africa has a positive father-figure in their lives. We bring in boys at 11-years-old and invest in them for the next 7+ years of their life, by providing elite soccer training, a quality education through our independent school, mentorship and leadership training, and a loving home at our academy residence. Our boys are moving on to exciting opportunities in professional football, full university scholarships, and local jobs. It would be amazing if one of our players became the next great soccer star, but our real hope is that through their mentorship and education, they will become great fathers, community leaders, and role models.
