Mission Statement
The mission of St. Luke's Medical Foundation is to provide financial aid to individuals who cannot afford the medical care that they require.
About This Cause
St. Luke's Medical Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides financial aid to individuals who need help paying for medications and required medical care. We are also the parent company of St. Luke's Medical Clinic, a nonprofit family practice clinic that provides education and services for the healthcare of needy, indigent, low income, uninsured and under-insured persons and families in Fort Collins, CO and the surrounding areas. In fact, at least 63% of our patients are on Medicare, Medicaid or are uninsured. Over the years, we’ve also seen a growing number of patients who are unable to purchase medications, afford medical tests, pay for medically related transportation or even buy food and supplies essential to health. For example, one elderly woman was living on cat food because she couldn't afford her life-saving medications and groceries. In these instances and more, we strive to help meet our patients’ non-medical needs in a variety of ways. For example, we have a full-time, on-staff social worker who helps our patients who are in need to acquire services, grants and supplies to better their quality of life. Our ongoing food drive, which we lovingly call the St. Luke’s Patient Pantry, provides food for our patients who can’t afford these most basic necessities. Our Passport to Health program and free monthly workshops are designed to educate and empower our patients to make healthy lifestyle choices and take charge of their own physical, mental and emotional well-being. We are currently working on developing even more programs and offerings, including regular support groups, free counseling services, and an Adopt-A-Senior program.
