Mission Statement
Batalá Washington's mission is to empower women through drumming and to celebrate Brazil’s rich Afro-Bahian culture thru Samba Reggae music.
About This Cause
Batalá Washington is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. It is an all-women Afro-Brazilian, Samba Reggae band and is comprised solely of volunteers. Proceeds go toward providing instruments, costumes, and cultural enrichment opportunities, as well as building and supporting local community.
