Mission Statement
SDM2 Project Education is on a mission to build strong Detroit communities through strengthening Detroit families. Through holistic programming to address economic, mental, physical, and educational needs, we couple community care with self-care to ensure collective growth and wellness in the pursuit of joy. Our vision is to build confident youth who grow in strong families that cultivate compassionate communities of change agents and lifelong learners.
About This Cause
SDM2 Project Education, a family-based non-profit, originated from the compassionate vision of Jacqueline and Willie Moore Jr., inspired by their daughters, Silver Danielle and Shannon Delise, whose initials give the organization its name. With over 20 years of servicing Detroiters in our repertoire, SDM2 has supported youth within the community through health awareness programs, mentorship events, numerous outdoor activities, as well as our annual Back to School Rally. In addition, we have opened The SDM2 House. Here we offer free access to literacy support, after school tutoring, mentoring and health education. Positioned directly in the neighborhood, we provide ease of accessibility for youth and their families to receive ongoing, community-based support.
