Mission Statement
Empire Dragons NYC is NYC's first and only breast cancer survivor dragon boat racing team. We are dedicated to empowering women to survive and thrive beyond cancer through the challenging and fun sport of dragon boating. Empire's mission is to: - Promote the sport of dragon boating as a unique and compelling survivorship program - Promote healthy lifestyles through education, proper nutrition and exercise. - Support innovative cancer research and programming - Serves as environmental advocates for clean and healthy water in NYC waterways
About This Cause
Empire Dragons is a diverse group of (55) women ranging in age from 40-76. What began in 2009 with a few women who wanted to paddle for their health and camaraderie has become a strong, competitive and dedicated close-knit community. We are happy to say that our team has grown to include all cancer survivors. We raise funds to support cancer research, integrative medicine programs and environmental organizations advocating for clean waterways in and around NYC.
