Mission Statement
In Africa, a bike is a lifeline to survival for many people. It is often their only means to access food and water, markets, education and jobs.
About This Cause
Wheels to Africa is a community supported organization that utilizes all donations for the cause. There are no paid employees and we have a strong volunteer base that have spent years with the organization because they have grown up volunteering. Our volunteers start working with WTA when they are in 5th or 6th grade and continue to volunteer through high school. At this point,we have a few volunteers who have created volunteer events at their colleges. Wheels to Africa has been working in Tanzania for the past 3 years with various organizations all over the country. Wheels to Africa sponsors 3 major events: December bike collection, Fall walk for Africa and August "Bands for Bikes".
