Mission Statement
Apostle Immigrant Services works with immigrants and their families in the greater New Haven area to achieve their goals, primarily through immigration legal services and food distribution. Founded by the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and grounded in the teachings of Jesus, we offer our services to all without discrimination.
About This Cause
Our legal team assists immigrants in navigating a daunting and complex system, helping them to prepare and file life-changing applications. Through our services, eligible clients can: obtain legal permanent residence (“green card”); petition for and unite with family members; gain employment authorization; renew their DACA status; and become U.S. citizens. We also help clients access immigration benefits for the most vulnerable, including: victims of crime or domestic abuse; refugees; asylees; persons from countries experiencing natural disaster or civil upheaval; and youth who have experienced abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Thanks to our nonprofit partners and volunteers, we also have a weekly food distribution program that provides families in the greater New Haven area with prepared boxes of staples, fruits and vegetables. There are currently 115 families registered, and more who benefit from the “pop-up pantry.”
