Mission Statement
The Kiran Anjali Project's mission is to advance educational opportunities for underprivileged children, especially girls, in India. We envision a bias free world in which all children are given a high quality education and job skills to be self-sufficient.
About This Cause
Millions of India's children receive a sub-standard education or no education at all. The situation is especially dire for girls from poor families, who are much less likely to be educated and are at risk for exploitation including early marriage, domestic servitude, and trafficking. However, there are many activists working to change this. The Kiran Anjali Project partners with small, grassroots nonprofits in India who are providing high-quality, English-medium education to underprivileged children. Through your generous donations, we provide these programs with grants and fundraising support so that they can lift more children out of poverty. Why the emphasis on English? A knowledge of English is required for university admission in India as well as for many well-paying jobs, including the Indian civil service. Knowing English brings students one step closer to reaching a middle class job. We have a personal relationship with every program we support and we know the name of every child we help.
