Mission Statement
The NATASHA House continues striving to intervene in the cycle of homelessness of female-headed families and at-risk youth by providing on-site transitional housing up to 2yrs—residency and comprehensive rehabilitative services—outreach HomeMakers Program (HMP) with the goal of preparing them to become self-sufficient, family oriented, civically engaged, career-minded, homeowners.
About This Cause
NATASHA House, Inc. (NHI) a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit whose mission empowers and equips homeless moms with on-site transitional housing, clients at-risk of losing their housing, & at-risk youth ages 5-18yrs on the VA Peninsula to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency via multifaceted, career-readiness supportive services Outreach called the HomeMakers Program (HMP) HMP address the problems of poor physical health, economic instability, and the barriers related to obtaining housing that the cycle of homelessness perpetuates in homeless female-headed families via a systems thinking approach. We combat these issues by focusing our support and training in nutrition, health, social skills, career exploration, employment, financial & technology literacy, volunteerism, housing, and achievement of Lifework Plan goals. HMP employs three components, HomeMakers which fosters Healing, Ownership, Motivation, Empowerment, Mentoring, Alignment, Knowledge, Encouragement, Reverence, and Service for the women, C.H.A.M.P. S. (CHAMPS), which fosters character development & healing using the Arts, financial literacy, tutoring, & mentoring for children ages 5-18yrs, and career-readiness & Agri-Business project management via our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) enterprise called the Seed 2 Table Market (S2T). Our work is grounded in the belief that women and children need the safety, security, permanency of a home, and accountability in order to mature spiritually, mentally, and physically and ultimately succeed in all aspects of life
