About This Cause
Creating Connected Communities' mission is to enhance the lives of children in need by empowering teens to become engaged community leaders and volunteers. Through programs like Amy's Holiday Party and 8 others, CCC serves 2,100 children in need and offers over 700 teen volunteer opportunities annually. At these programs, children receive thousands of gifts, books, personal care items, and meals. They participate in outdoor festivals, carnivals, craft projects, DJ dance parties, and more, all with the help of teen volunteers. The 80 teens in CCC's Leadership Development Program plan and implement each of these events while learning about community leadership, fundraising, program planning, and more. Led by young adult mentors, these teens participate in an up to 4-year long experiential training program that teaches them the skills they need to become leaders who effect positive change in our community.
