About This Cause
Over 40 million people live in poverty in the USA (PovertyUSA.org). By providing work skill though education, this population can overcome poverty and live better lives. EC4A, founded in Austin in 2010, started the initial project of providing school supplies to homeless children where in 2012, it became a HC4A and Jewish Community of Austin service Event. Since then, over 10,000 homeless children have been served. Additionally, in 2014, HC4a launched scholarship program for vocational training - to date over 450 students have benefited. The vocational tuition scholarships have enable many students to elevate their income from $12,000 to over $45,000 in the job market. Last year, EC4A opened chapters in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, CA and Atlanta, GA. Its vision is to be a national charity that makes a significant impact to raise the quality of life of those living in poverty by helping provide work skills. EC4A may also provide humanitarian aid for certain causes.
